Our CEO, Francisco Acuna, was invited to participate as a Judge for the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme by the world’s largest clean technology accelerator program, Cleantech Open, born through a partnership of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Global Environment faciility (GEF). The event took place on Sunday 28th of January at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubators (LACI), where representatives from United Nations, the GEF, investors and 30+ international cleantech startups from 10 countries participated.
Since 2005, Cleantech Open has trained and supported over 1500 early stage clean technology startup ventures through its annual business accelerator, helping innovators develop their business models, engage investors and secure first customers. This has created a pathway for such innovators to survive the “valley of death” that is part of the merciless technology startup world and has enabled them to go and raise $1.2 billion in funding, which has allowed the creation of over 3,000 clean economy jobs.
Once a year, the best innovators from across these programs come together in celebration of their progress and impact in creating an inclusive green global economy.
